I migliori film del 21° secolo – Mulholland Drive di David Lynch è al primo posto

La BBC Culture ha lanciato un sondaggio che ha visto coinvolti 177 critici cinematografici di 36 paesi diversi per stilare la classifica dei 100 migliori film del 21° secolo; a ogni critico è stato chiesto di segnalare dieci film, e il totale di 599 film è stato poi ridotto a 100. Il risultato vede Mulholland Drive, il capolavoro di David Lynch datato 2001, svettare su tutti gli altri e conquistarsi il primo posto della classifica.

Evidentemente il fascino ipnotico ed enigmatico del film, interpretato da Naomi Watts e Laura Harring, ha fatto breccia nei cuori (e nelle menti) dei critici, ma nella lista sono presenti altri film che avrebbero potuto occupare la prima posizione senza problemi. Al secondo posto troviamo In the Mood for Love (2000) di Wong Kar-Wai, mentre la medaglia di bronzo spetta a Il petroliere (2007) di Paul Thomas Anderson (che ha fatto vincere il secondo premio Oscar a Daniel Day Lewis).

Le posizioni seguenti sono occupate da La città incantata e Boyhood, ma se ci inoltriamo più avanti nella classifica vediamo che la Pixar è presente con ben quattro film: WALL-E (29°), Inside Out (41°), Ratatouille (93°) e Alla ricerca di Nemo (96°). Presente anche l’Italia con La grande bellezza di Paolo Sorrentino alla posizione numero 64.
