La stagione dei premi cinematografici questa notte è proseguita con l'assegnazione degli annuali Critics Choice Awards 2016, ossia i premi assegnati dalla Broadcast Film Critics Association.

Forte delle ben 12 nominations, il capolavoro di Damien Chazelle dal titolo La La Land si porta a casa la bellezza di 8 premi, tra cui quello per il Miglior Film, Miglior Regia allo stesso Chazelle (al suo secondo film) e Miglior Sceneggiatura. Il suo viaggio verso gli Oscar 2017 prosegue spedito.

I premi destinati agli attori vanno a Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea), Natalie Portman (Jackie), Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) e Viola Davis (Barriere).
